Our little kayak carrier has behaved beautifully on our trip to Wyoming. That is, the Forester. I never dreamed towing the car would be so easy. It looks like the gas difference with towing will be minimal. That's another nice surprise.
Denver and Charley know how to travel. Denver has always preferred to
travel between the front seats and Charley has always stayed behind the
seats. He does like to sit in the passenger seat when we start out. He
scans the road to be sure we're headed in the right direction. Now,
rather than getting off the passenger seat to settle in the back, he just
stretches out across the seat and rests his head on the console. It's
his new preferred travel spot and you know where that leaves Ron and
Ally. It's a dog's world and we know our place.
We've just come through Jackson on the way to our summer home. We're tired after a long day's drive but we just have to stop to have an "Ahhh!" moment when we see the Tetons.
There's a mandatory requirement that when you enter a national park you must take a picture by the sign. This will be Ally's third picture under this sign. We hope she has many more coming her way.
We've settled into our favorite site once again. We realized as we were driving up here this year that this site number is the same as our lot number at home. Strange. When we checked in they told us that we were the last ones to use this site last fall and the first ones this summer. We're starting to think "ownership". Maybe we can collect rent from folks who may use it from mid - June till the end of July while we're traveling in Montana.
There's plenty of snow on the mountains right now as you can see from this backyard view...
...and from this backyard view.
Summer home, some are not! We're here all alone. How nice.
One of the first things we always do is check on the Gros Ventre River to see what's new. Runoff is underway but it is nothing compared to last year's deluge. Ron is thinking the fishing might be good by mid-July. Good for Ron that is...not so hot for the fish!
As we walk on the river rock a garter snake (we think) slithers across Ally's foot. He can swim!
Even if you don't like snakes maybe you can appreciate its beauty as it slides along the river rock. It's sticking its tongue out at us. Guess we better leave it alone.
