On the road again!

May 31, 2007....We're off and running on another adventure. Experience counts! Our departure May 29th went so much more smoothly than last year's disaster. I think that may be why "JET" hasn't shown up yet. No gas cap left off, no electric step hanging out while driving down the highway, no flood - we're off to a great start (so far). Our first night out we had a wonderful visit with our Las Vegas friends, Gil and Nancy. Great company, great food and wine, and a great view of the Las Vegas skyline from their home. Yesterday we traveled Route 93 up the eastern side of Nevada through very remote and beautiful high desert. Cathedral Gorge, our campground, was a beautiful state park with wind carved caves and formations. Our traveling companions, the Bickersmiths, showed up for dinner last night just as the heat of the day was getting to us. As soon as the sun started to go down the temperature started to drop fast and what a great night we had and thank goodness they left. There was a beautiful small hilltop behind our campsite with a bench on it for viewing the stars. Magical in the moonlight. Another great campground to add to our list of ones to return to someday. What makes a great campground for us? It's one where there is no need to pull the shades, where every window has a great view, and the only sounds are the sounds of nature. Ahhhh!
