We were thinking that we would leave this beautiful place on the 27th to head to Utah to hook up with Nancy and Gil for a few days before we headed home but plans change. Aren't all plans made of jello? They seem to be in the RV world. We're leaving for home tomorrow so I'm off to take a few photos to remind us of what a wonderful time we've had here over the last 6 weeks. The early fall weather has been magnificent but we know the cold and snow will soon be on its way. The locals say the Tetons have two seasons, July/August and winter. We'll just roll our home on down the road.
Only two weeks ago Ron walked upstream on the Gros Ventre to fish at this gorgeous location. He fished most of the day and took a few great photos. It's amazing how much the leaves have changed since that time. A few cold nights and everything turns gold.
I'll miss my moose hunting (with my camera) and hiking along the river along the narrow animal trails.
I'm sure the beaver will miss watching me check on his comings and goings. This dam is built to make it through the spring floods. It's been here every time we've camped here.
This is a very quiet evening. The river is meandering slowly and the birds are roosting for the night. The wind is still. Across the way I can see thunder clouds building over the hills and...
...a beautiful rainbow forming. This must be an omen that this is our special place. When we arrived here in June with Ally, Gil, and Nancy, we were welcomed with another spectacular rainbow the first night. "Ciao" for now Gros Ventre. See you next summer!
