On to Glacier National Park

I wrote several blogs in “Word” and saved them until I could post them. We’ve been out of touch for almost two weeks. After we picked up LuAnn we headed to Missoula, MT to have a leveler issue resolved and then onto Glacier National Park…………so here we go catching up with the adventures of Jane, Ron, LuAnn, Denver and Brea.

On our trip to the St. Mary campground of Glacier National Park (on the east side of the park) we went through areas where the fire that started a few weeks ago had burned. There’s devastation and beauty in these areas. The fire is still burning and can be seen from our campground. It’s almost contained at this point and the afternoon rains have helped. In Arizona some of our most beautiful sunsets occur in times of heavy air pollution. The same affect has happened here with the mingling of the clouds and smoke. Fortunately we can’t smell the fire even though the burn came very close to the town of St. Mary. Other parts of the park that have burned recently show signs of new growth. No doubt the area burned by this fire will be full of wild flowers in another couple of years and hopefully by the time Cody and Ally come to visit this area as adults (and I hope they will) a beautiful forest will await them. Life goes on!
