Yesterday afternoon I opened my email to find a message from our friends, Dave and Sandy who traveled with us last summer, that they had updated their blog. So, being a slightly curious sort, I opened their blog to see what was new in their world. They had a Lazy Daze like ours when we traveled together but when we separated in August they delivered their Lazy Daze to its new owners in CA and went home to MN to take delivery of their new 42’ foot Allegro Bus so they could travel full time with all the comforts of a home….including a washer and dryer. After spending time in the southwest last winter they decided that the 42’ was just a bit too big so this spring they ordered a new 40’ Allegro Bus. Their blog showed photos of them moving from the 08 RV to the new 09. I looked out my front window and there I saw, for the first time this summer, an Allegro Bus that looked exactly like Sandy and Dave’s 42’ struggling to get into a site in the next loop of the campground. Once again, being a curious sort, I went over to chat with the folks who confirmed that, yes, it was a 42’ 2008 just like Sandy and Dave’s and they also mentioned that they were going to downsize to a 40’. They couldn’t go any smaller as they didn’t want to give up the washer and dryer. Very strange timing on the blog and the RV. Coincidence?
We camped at the Hoback River a week or so ago and Ron had been hopeful that we might once again see Johnny Miller (not of golf fame), a fly fishing guide who guides for the Four Seasons at Teton Village two months each year. The rest of the year he spends in the Everglades. He had been camping next to us last year and had helped Ron with some casting techniques plus he was an all around enjoyable neighbor. Johnny (in his tent sleeping) was the one who almost got stomped on by Fred, the moose, as he made his evening rounds. Ron was disappointed we didn’t find Johnny at the Hoback.

We were going to head north this morning but decided to stay one more day in the Tetons. We went to Jackson Hole to take care of “the gottas” and Ron stayed in the RV while I shopped for groceries. Jackson Hole is a pretty busy place this time of year. Ron saw a vehicle pull up to next to our RV and the gentleman got out without paying any attention to our RV. Ron thought there was something familiar about him but couldn’t quite place him until he saw the key ring he was holding….a monkey fist knot…….Johnny and Ron had been showing each other knots last year and Johnny had made a monkey fist knot key chain for Ron. Yep, it was Johnny. They had a great visit. Coincidence?
It’s a small, small world out there!
