As Ahmad, my hiking friend, and I hiked along the Gros Ventre River on our daybreak search for animals we saw the sun's early light bouncing off the mountains and……
the moon setting over the mountains to the west. Ahhhh! Now that’s a reason to get up early!
Ahmad gets up at 5 every morning……..Jane gets up early whenever there is a really good reason to get up – like a hike or a photo opportunity or a road trip or a new adventure. The rest of the time…well……that’s not to be disclosed. There’s a reason they call it brunch!
I get to benefit from our friend studying the early morning inhabitants of this area as he knows just when the beaver leaves his lodge at night to go to work upstream (7:30 P.M.).....
and when he returns to his lodge in the morning (6:30 A.M.). We arrived at exactly the right time to catch his return from a very long night of work. He’s working on this new lodge but is living in the huge lodge next door. Guess Mama doesn’t want him to be a failure to launch! She’s making her son build his own house!
Each time we looked up the light was changing. We could see the moose across the river but they were in the shadows so they escaped the camera this morning.
Goodnight Moon!
