9-6 Sitting on the edge

Sandy and Dave have gone home to MN and we’ve come to visit our AZ neighbors, Jim and Lori, at their very special canyon edge cabin, on 400 acres surrounded by national forest, in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Be careful, this is no place to have one too many, either driving or sitting. There's a 10 mile good dirt road to get here...

...and check out that deck seating. Over the edge is straight down - way down to the canyon below.

When we visit our friends we always try to expose them to the high side of the trailer trash lifestyle. Appetizers at 5! served with the always trendy Black Box wine.

We were fortunate to have this beautiful scenery out our back window. Those South Dakota grasslands are gorgeous, especially when you add just a little breeze.

Before Lori, Jim and I hiked down into the canyon this morning Lori showed me her back yard. Whoa, don't step back please.

We're heading down now. What a beautiful canyon.

Looking up from the canyon floor we see the cabin sitting right on the edge. Can you find it?

There's nothing better than an awesome hike to start your day.

Thanks Lori and Jim for sharing the beauty of the Black Hills with us.

And thanks Dolly for putting up with Denver and Charley!

We’re headed for Nebraska this afternoon. Nebraska? Yep, Nebraska.
