9-9 Been thinkin' again...

Now that's a scary prospect but it does happen on occasion. I've been thinkin' that RVing is like having a second childhood.

You get up when you want, you eat when you want, you go outside and see your playmates, and you don't do your chores because there's always tomorrow. Besides, there just aren't many chores so who cares if you don't do them. You don't have to do anything but what moves you at the moment. There's lots of fun stuff out there just waiting to be found.

Today was a treat. I discovered this wonderful swing set here in Chadron State Park, where we're staying, and had a wonderful time trying to touch the sky.

Ron took charge of his animals...

while I got to play. Now that's just plain fun.

Remember when?

I'm glad you enjoyed Mt. Rushmore. It is an awesome sight. You certainly saw a lot more wildlife than we did.

For all the whining you did when I set up this blog, you've done an outstanding job! Keep swingin' Girl. :-)

Jane and Ron, I just got caught up on the blog, starting back with the August 16 post. Couldn't believe I had gotten so far behind! The letter B was quite evident in the earlier posts - Bison, Bear, Butterfly, Burro, Big Horn sheep, Black Hills, and probably a few others. I guess Moose doesn't start with B unless you have a cold and can't breathe out of your nose.

Very interesting about Mother Nature's fires at Yellowstone. I'd never heard of pigtail bridges - what a neat concept!

Some day we'll get to Mt. Rushmore. Lynn tells the story of her parents visiting there on their honeymoon during construction. Her mother stood on the nose of one of the Presidents. That was long before OSHA or any safety regulations.

Amazing picture of that Stagecoach West rig inching its way through the tunnel. How much clearance was there?

I was as surprised as you at the Nebraska scenery. I had always pictured just miles and miles of wheat fields and corn fields.

It's still about 100 here in Scottsdale each day in the afternoon and mid-70s overnight, so take your time coming home to Arizona.

Thanks for all the great pictures and prose.
