Jane here:
It’s late (almost 11:30 as in P.M.). The pressure is on to write this blog because we’re leaving for the Yellowstone area tomorrow and we may be out of touch for 3 weeks as we were last week. After leaving Steamboat Springs we almost decided not to go to “Beautiful” Chambers Lake. We had lost a day of our reservation by having to stay an extra day in Steamboat to see the vet. It was getting toward late afternoon when we left. What kept us driving was the fact that every time we had seen this campground described it always said “Beautiful” Chambers Lake. It didn’t matter what the publication was it always said the same thing. So we concluded that we had to see it and are we glad we did. The minute we arrived the Bickersmiths left. Amazing how that works. We were meant to be in the boonies. We had a great three days there with beautiful cool, sunny weather. The 9300’ elevation helps with the cool. Ron chased the trout in the lake but he really pined for his float tube that was back in Scottsdale. Next trip it will come along. From there we started heading north through Wyoming. We were both surprised and amazed at the scenery. Once we were through the CO mountains we entered high desert with elements of the Painted Desert, Sedona, New Mexico, etc. That was not what we expected. Somehow we were both thinking trees. Our first stop was in Rawlins (JET’s campground that she loves) WY and then we moved on through the Wind River Canyon which is very beautiful (reminds me of the Salt River Canyon) to Thermopolis, WY. It has the world’s largest hot springs. One of the things we like most about RVing is that every place you stay is so different from the others. We’re on a ranch that is along the Big Horn River. Lots of cattle, lots of flies, and lots and lots of mosquitoes – the biting kind. Even with all those amenities it’s kind of an interesting place. Tomorrow we head to Cody, WY and then back to the national forests along the Shoshoni River just east of Yellowstone. In Chambers Lake the lodge pole pines were too high for Ron to get a shot at the southern sky for our internet. We suspect we may run into this again as we head into Yellowstone. Must go rest my eyes as we’re on the road for a short time tomorrow. Hope the hot spell breaks in the desert.
A note to Jim: A travalsak is like a sleeping bag but it has a "summer" side and a "winter" side and a sheet liner to wash. Very, very, comfy. Cooking? Well that's just like home which means for us a little on the mediocre side. Actually we're eating better than we did at home since there aren't many restaurants close to the places we like to stay. Lemonade or margarita - on advice from my attorney I plead the fifth. Must not tarnish my stellar reputation!

Boy, is she boring tonight or what????? She’s late because the Texans camped next to us invited them over for a little happy hour after dinner. Just how many seconds do you think it took her to decide to go? Now she’s tired and feeling the pressure. Poor baby! Sock it to her Sharon!
She even tried to post some photos but I guess she's too tired (or something) to do it right because they won't post. She'll keep trying.
