Catch up time! Sunset Bay

For all of you dedicated blog followers (I think there is one out there) the blogger apologizes for being delinquent in posting the latest news. We’ve been traveling often and doing the total tourist thing. There is so much to see and so little time. After social hour and dinner, sleep comes creeping in before blogs get written. So here’s an attempt at a one night catch up before the memory fades.

After our great Fourth spent at Harris Beach we headed up the coast to Sunset Bay. One of the really fun things to do when traveling the coast is to try to see all the lighthouses. This can be a challenge as in the case of the Cape Arago lighthouse which is closed to the public. We were told to take a trail above Sunset Bay and eventually we would see it in the distance. What a trail! Sandy didn’t like hiking on the edge of the cliff that sometimes looked like the soil had eroded underneath. We plowed through underbrush, got off trail a few times, but eventually found it. It felt like finding the prize in the Cracker Jack box.
