Rain, rain, stay for today!

July 20
I can’t believe I’m saying this but our day spent in the rain at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC was wonderful. The flowers were beautiful with the raindrops on them. It was a long day of travel by ferry from Anacortes, WA to Sidney, BC via the San Juan Islands and return but it was well worth it as you can see. It’s hard to imagine that these gardens are over 100 years old and were originally begun by Mr. and Mrs. Butchart to cover the scar left after mining the limestone from this quarry for their cement plant.
