Now for some riverside relaxation!

Jane here:

At the recommendation of our friend, Jan, we made plans to check out the Metolius River just west of Sisters, OR. Thanks Jan! What a gorgeous place and we get to stay in the national forest right beside the river. We'll be here a week. No more driving, just relaxation under the sun - finally! This is a wonderful forest full of pine and huge cedars with a beautiful understory full of wildflowers and great trails. The river is like a large spring creek. The river's source is just a short distance up stream from us where it bubbles out of the ground. Ron hiked miles today, Sunday the 10th, exploring the river's runs, riffles, and pools. Tomorrow the rod comes out. The campground was busy when we arrived Sat. evening but cleared out today. It feels like the forest and river are ours alone to enjoy. We share this beautiful place with only a couple of others. I think there will be lots of pictures but they will speak for themselves. Don't need my commentary.

JET here: You can say that again!
